Our understanding is that "Medically Necessary Contact Lens" claims are the most audited VSP claims.  The fees and fines roughly double the claims they reverse.  You're removed from the plan.  Lawyers have to be involved.  ALL of this is terrifying.

This document will help keep you out of trouble!  It takes the known rules for Medically Necessary lenses for Eyemed and VSP and combines them into a pragmatic checklist.

Check our work.  Make sure you agree with what we have there.

NOTE:  VSP and Eyemed will probably require you to file a claim (and likely take a $$ loss) for fitting high-priced lenses because there are NO rules we've seen that say you can avoid filing claims for high-end contact lenses.  In other words, the benefit is COMPULSORY.
